Bachman Lake? Are there two Bachman Lakes? The one that I know of is on the north side of Love Field and you can't get this view of Texas Stadium from there.

Now I'm gonna have to go over there and look. LOL It's been awhile since I've been over there but I had no idea that you could see it from Bachman Lake.

Good picture, but that could be the ugliest stadium around!

Yeah agree. the eye sore of the Metroplex (not implying that your pic is bad at all). Looks like I'll be seeing a lot of the new stadium in a few years.. Not sure that is a good thing or not. LOL

If you look at the stadium the supports in the top run north and south basically, and Bachman lake is east NE of the stadium, I think it was taken somwhere north. Look at Google earth and see what you think.

http://www.google.com/ Texas Stadium isn't that far from Bachman lake, 3 miles or so is all. If you are on the South Side of the lake you should be able to see the stadium-may have to go up a hill a bit but that is all.
They are repainting the roof and doing other maintenance that good old Jerry didn't do for the last 10 years but Irving is forcing him to do now even though it probably will be torn down in a couple years anyway- that will be one heck of an implosion when that one comes down.

I will have to agree that it doesn't look right to be shot from Bachman. What I see of Bachman is grassy all around, and there are very many houses and businesses between Bachman and the Stadium to the West. I don't recall seeing anything like a Railroad trestle West of the lake. Just "Mens Clubs"
I would say that it would more likely be that water skiing lake south of the spur, just East of the river and West of Loop 12???
But...a real long tele would really squash things together!!!???

Keith...This was the lake at the north end of the runway at Love. Right?? You can see Hangers and Aircraft buildings right at the top of the rise, just South of the lake?????

Doesn't look right to me either... I have Google Earth on my PC and pulled these images which show the surrounding areas and buildings.

To the Moderators - Before posting these, I read through Google's licensing which came with the software. I believe the display of these images is okay for "personal use". As it mentions the information may not be used/reproduced for "commercial or business purposes", and that the copyright symbol may not be removed or altered. As the software allows you to send these images to any email address, I posted them as I received them. If you think they should not be posted in this context, please remove them.

I don't know what you all are not seeing. It looks right to me. If you look at the shore lines of the two small lakes (ponds) between the stadium and Bachman Lake they are lined with trees. The shoreline of Bachman Lake has no trees right by the water.

Bats21, the supports at the top do not run North and South as is evident by the satellite map.

As for the buildings not showing up in the photo: the stadium and the lake are at about the same elevation, everything in between is lower. I don't have Google Earth at work or I'd be able to get the elevation values. The lake is obviously created by a dam (as all but one lake in Texas are-forgot which one) and would be elevated higher than the small river it feeds between the stadium and the lake (the dam is not the concrete type but rather the "earth" type)

All you "Metroplexians" have to do is go there yourselves.
