The second to last shot of the formation is a definite keeper. Nobody's posted that particular look yet. Way to go. :!:

Shawn,
Great stuff man, I am so maad at myself fro not going to this one, but a soccer shoot on Saturday and a Model?talen shoot on Sunday kept me away from this one this time, I am Definitly planning on making it out to the Alliance Air Show this year no matter what comes along, I just have to try and find out when it is and mark it on my calendar.
The first shot is awesome and would be an even better shot if one of the personell on deck would have almost saluted the planes but I like the perspective of this one.
Second shot, another winner IMHO.
Third, I like the fact that its a smole screen but it also looks as if he is lost in the clouds at the same time which is a cool effect,
Fourth Shot, Awsome concept with the dealing with light and different backgrounds, I only wish on this shot the background could have been a little more blurred out and the plane a little sharper to give the sense of motion, Revist this one and maybe play with it with some motion blur and see what ya come up with.
The other 2 of the single planes are good as well because it shows Stopped motion in air of some VERY FAST PLANES.
Love the Formation shot and you did very well with the composition here as well.
The up close shot of the Col is also very well done.
You plan on heading out to the Races next week? A friend of mine is getting me some tickets for Saturdays Bush Race but I can't find anything decently priced for Sundays race and since I had to pass on my season tickets this year due to a death in the family, I am really Hating the fact I will miss the Sunday Race.
Hope to get together and go shooting soon.
Steve

So, how did you get onto the flight line on Friday????
I was relegated to the road west of the base. At least I had the sun to my back. I would have loved to have gotten an inside location for those crew shots.

Steve | Hey Steve,
I apprecaite all your comments. I am going to send that first picture to the Blue Angels narrator. I since most of the pictures are always focused on the planes in the air, the narrator is sometimes neglected and probably not included in a whole lot of pictures (IMHO). I could see this shot coming out of the corner of my eye, recomposed, and squeezed a few frames off. I would like to think that he will appreciate this photo for years to come. I know if it were me in the picutre, I would be thrilled with it.
Yes, I will be at the race Sunday. I have season tickets and PSL's. But, since this is my first year with my new job, i dont have alot of vacation time to burn yet. I will miss the Busch race and pray that it does not rain sunday, as due to a weird schedule, that is the only day I can go :(
Yes, we do need to get together and shoot. I am hoping that us DFW types get together sometime soon :)
Again, thanks for the comments!

I got a page at 8AM Friday morning from my boss. He had just got an email from a Air Force special agent that is there on the base, inviting all law enforcement personnel on board to view the dress rehearsal practice. I had to work that afternoon, but luckily for me I was able to talk a co-worker into staying over onto my shift. I got there at 10 AM and did not leave until after the Blues were done. And I got a really nice sunburn on my face; I still have coon eyes from my sunglasses and my head is peeling as if I have dandruff :)
