Can someone help me with the names of the nicer motels/hotels in downtown Ft Worth? Is that a Hilton (Raddison?) just to the north side of the water garden thing and is it still decent? I'm looking for nice (wifie call it "ambiance" or something like that) with secure parking and a nice breakfast bar/resturant within walking distance. I don't get out much so I'm kinda ignert when it comes to picking lodging.
Thanks,
David

There is supposed to be a Bed and Breakfast right near the Courthouse in Downtown-local tv station was talking about it a couple weeks ago. Rates were reasonable-less than the Worthington and the Hilton and the rooms were really nice. Sorry that i can't give you more info but it is west of Main St a block or two and up near the Courthouse-north end of Downtown.

The Worthington is right downtown, just a block off Sundance Square. Stayed there a couple of times before I moved to the area. Here is the link Worthington

The Worthington is really the nicest we've got in Ft. Worth.
There is also the Stockyards Hotel which is supposed to be fabulous (I've never stayed there, myself.) http://www.stockyardshotel.com/

It is rated four stars, and is quiet and very classy. The worthington is OK, but pretty much like any other large city hotel.

Yeah, the Ashton is a winner, but it's also about $300 a night. Even the Worthington isn't cheap at about $200 a night on the weekends according to both websites' online reservations.
Take the extra $100 and walk to Reata or somewhere for dinner.

ROFLMAO!!!
Hmmm....you may have a point. Ok, spend $50 of the difference on flowers and the other $50 on a bottle of champagne. She'll never notice the room! How's that? 'Cuz you know you're going to spend the money anyway regardless of where you stay. I mean who can resist the $300 pair of faded "cutting edge cowgirl fashion" jeans there at Leddy's?!

Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate you folks. Tom and Pete, y'all are cracking me up. Very good arguments from both of you. Now let me tell you what a great wife I have. I sent her Tom's favorite first. She wrote back about how impressed she was and what a neat little place that seemed to be. Then, about 5 minutes later she sends another note.......in RED......bolded....caps......" UH......DID YOU NOT SEE THE NIGHTLY RATES?" Bless her little heart, she says when a woman has a hubby as good as me, she doesn't need THAT much ambiance" Folks, it just doesn't get any better than that. Yep, fer an old woman, she sure is smart.
.........and we have a winner, we're going with Pete's pick and have a really nice supper.
Thanks again, folks. I've enjoyed this little shopping spree more than most.

~dp | I don't know, David. You might pay for that "old woman" remark.
