Anyone here ever gone to TMS to get pictures of Indy car practices? I was thinking of going Thurday, but was curious if you needed a pit pass to get decent pictures. I don't want to have the fence between me and the cars.

I was wandering the same thing. I had thought of driving up Thur for the same thing.

The only way to not get the fence between you and the cars is to work for a team or get media credentials. Other than that get a infield pass and get on top of a fans scaffolding. But if you go and no one is around, like on Thursday, stand in turn one back towards the start finish line, shoot your lens wide open and you won't see a fence.

Happy shooting

I just talked to the ticket agent at TMS, She says you can buy a pit pass for $60 and that you can get some real good shots without a fence from behind the pit wall. I was thinking also, if you were to get high enough in the stands you may get some without the fence. Rick, let me know if you plan on going, would like to meet up with some folks and get some good advice/tips. I will be there for sure. The trucks practice starting at 11 am, Indy cars start at 2:30

Media pass very hard to get unless you know someone
Buy a pit pass and go in Thur and Fri is your best bet
