Brice, WOW! I absolutely love those shots. The story they tell is something else and when they get torn down these pictures will be all the more important.

Lightbulb Heritage Park - 06-08-2006, 09:14 AM

Mike, here's a link to Heritage Park:

http://www.fortwortharchitecture.com/heritage.htm

That place looked a lot nicer when the water was running in it. Rumor is the city turned off the water to prevent the homeless from using the park as their campgrounds and bathing facility. It's pretty sad.

Neat shots Bruce.

yeah, I wouldn't go into Heritage Park alone. There are always homeless in there. Too bad, for all concerned. That could be a really nice place to visit. Been there with Jake and Panther and had no trouble, but as you know Jake is SWAT trained, and with a handle like Panther, I wouldn't mess with Craig.

thanks
Mike

Mike,

I took the original picture in color in the camera (Sony DSC-W1). In post processing, using Paint Shop Pro X, I removed noise, enriched color, sharpened, boosted contrast, then used an "action" in PSP called "Photo Effects" which simulates "Infrared" pictures.

By playing around with the settings in that effect, I can often get a better looking B&W than by doing a direct conversion through desaturation, increasing contrast, etc.

Nice stuff there, Bruce. I wouldn't mind getting down there myself before it's all gone.
