There are several parks in both cities. What kind of portraits are you taking and what kind of locations/backgrounds are you looking for?

Families and kids. I know about Chisholm and Boys Ranch, and I've even gone over to the Hurst library, but I'd like to find some other options, esp. a cool building or a place where I could choose between the building or the yard.

Ok, what constitutes a "cool building"? Describe the shots you have in mind. There is Central park where they have a water park like Chisolm Park. Redbud Park is mostly a huge field surrounded by trees. There's another park over off of Bluebonnet that has a really nice pavillion, trails, wooded and a nice creek running through it. Behind Euless Elementary School, there is a small park that's actually a nice iron girder bridge crossing a creek.

Cool Building: columns, walkway, interesting textured wall, no ugly windows, steps.....along the lines of the Kimball. And a place where the background is not difficult to control (no houses or street in the background). And not in direct sun in the evening. Central Park may be okay at the end away from the rec center...depending on where the sun hits. The waterpark as a background is too busy. I did think about the trail that follows the drainage ditch but haven't been there in the evening, have you (I'm thinking it would be direct sun). I seem to remember Redbud being in the middle of a subdivision, but there may be places where shrubs would be the background. I was just trying to think of a place that would offer some variety (not just grass or shrubs).

Redbud is in a subdivision but there are several places where your background would be shrubs/trees. Remember, people living there don't want people in the park looking into thier backyards. Also, JC Baker park might be neat as it has a bunch of new payground equipment. If you want to walk the darker side, you have Paker Cemetary. Not big but there are a few old headstones and monuments that are big enough to provide an interesting backdrop with the right angle. If you shoot facinf west in the morning you'll get dappled light through trees and your background will be brushy/trees.
