Photographic works by famous globe-trotting women will be on display in the exhibit "Women Photographers at National Geographic," which will open at The Women's Museum on Saturday. Organized by the National Geographic Museum at Explorers Hall, in Washington, D.C., the exhibition is a tribute to more than 40 women artists, including Jodi Cobb, Eliza Scidmore and Annie Griffiths Belt. Based on the book by the same name, the display chronicles the work of brave professionals who sometimes faced physical danger and gender discrimination to get that shot. Included in the exhibit are works by war correspondent Dickey Chapelle, who was the first American female reporter to be killed during battle. She died in Vietnam in 1965. Also check out "The Other Half: Women in Focus," with photographs by Lekha Singh, which runs through July 16.

The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE." - Ernst Haas
