Nice work. I knew right away you were using a Canon b/c your white balance is a little off. It's a little on the warm side which is why you have a pink hue on your white background in the top pic. My 10D does the same thing...in addition to being a .5-1 full stop under exposer. I actually don't mind the issue if I'm not shooting on a white background as it gives a little warmth to the skin tones. On white backgrounds I have to change the WB to K and set it at about 5500K.

Heather,

#5 is kewl! I like that one. I remember when you took that I thought "That's going to be a good one ;)" A question about #1, is there something in the upper right corner of that image? I can't tell but it looks like some kind of artifact or something. It looks like there's a touch of boomstand on the left of #4.

Lol. True though.. I've heard other people say that as well. I kept asking Scott about white balance and why they didn't use grey cards, maybe it's cuz they were using Nikon! Heehee. I've heard Nikon is much better on that. Most pro's I've talked to who shoot canon always use a grey card, and I definitely know mine come out better when I do, but then that's maybe cuz I don't have the experience others do... but I have heard Canon's aren't as good on color balance and need more post-processing work in that area. (not trying to start another canon vs nikon war)

It sure was nice meeting everyone... most of you were really nice, funny and great to hang out with. ANd a special thanks for COrey for saving my butt for having a spare battery ;)

I don't use a grey card only b/c I know my camera after all of these years. Wish I would have had it when I was starting.

Here's a little test I did one day...

They look great heather,

I will post some of mine some day when they are developed. I love these workshops.

The models were great to work with and the information learned invaluable.

so if you shoot RAW, how difficult is to do correct WB... I don't even bother to preset WB in camera unless I know what the strobes are putting out and then dial in desired Kelvins.
