Gaylord Texan
1501 Gaylord Trl
Grapevine, TX 76051

It's just a few mins away from Grapevine Mills or DFW Airport (North Exit).

Nice place. Reminds me of the Opera Land Hotel in Nashville.

Edit: Oops meant to say "Opry"

That's because it's part of the same hotel chain. It was originally going to be called the "Gaylord Opryland Texas", but they later changed it to the "Gaylord Texan".

So, I'm assuming the management doesn't mind the cameras?

Management does not mind cameras if it just casual shots, but doing bridals or paid shoots will end up costing you a fee up front. You can contact them ahead of time and with the fee you get access to some areas that are not normally available to the public.

Great shots of a great place. I think everyone gets a shot of the 'Star Dome'. Sometimes when the planes from DFW are in the right flight pattern you can see one fly over the dome.

My wife was there on a press trip in April and we got access to anything and they told me I could shoot anything. What an experience.

But did you get a shot of the Longhorn? or find the only tree in the place that was not real?

Good shooting.

I love the Gaylord as well. I am lucky to have clients that I have (for my full time job) stay out there so I am out there alot enjoying everything they have to offer. The staff is great and the detail they put into the place is great.

Thanks for all the replies~~~

First of all, I am not a professional photographer and I don't look like one, so I just take my camera around without a tripod and so I really look like a tourist and no one has bothered me....That's great....

I probably didn't catch that ''tree'', but I did notice the longhorn...however, when I saw it, it was already dark after sunset. And since I didn't bring my tripod with me, I didn't take a pic of it. But, is that longhorn real???

Well, what's left of it is real. The insides are all some type of foam. This makes for a good steady pose for photographers... hehe!

Go on past the longhorn, all the way to the end of that section. Look for the largest tree and then look at the bark on the tree.

Good luck and post some of your pics.

I have around at there, but just for fun and with my family. I called about doing a bridal session. It's $500. They provide a staff member to accompany you and get you around. They seemed very nice and helpful on the phone. However, I haven't found a client yet that wants to spend an additional $500 for the shoot. To bad:(

Anyway, no one bothereed me there while I was shooting the fam..even though I had professioanl equipment with me.
