Nice one. However, I would like to see it flipped horizontally for comparison since our eyes always look for a resting place in an image, and they typically search from left to right.

They are on the upper left corner...on the inside of the house.

Thanks....I caught Peter Feresten's Lecture at the Amon Carter Museum yesterday. He really made me want to out and shoot.

I guess it depends on what the purpose of it is for. Most times when it is hung in a window like that it is to display it to the outside...therefore it is backwards. If the purpose was to display it on the inside then you are correct, it is the right way. It wouldn't make sense though to have only one sheet as a window shade and one flag as a window shade if it isn't for display to those outside. JMO

Jeff, you are correct I believe. If I remember 'Flag Ediquite 101' correctly... a flag that is displayed 'in an open window' is primarily to be viewed from the outside. Therefore it should be reversed. Flags that are to be viewed from inside are generally displayed on a wall, flagpole, or from ceiling hangers; however if they are placed in front of a window they should be backed with a material that prevents them from being seen in reverse from the outside.

Geeze guys, lighten up!

this photo is about the house, dwelling condition, shelter, economic condition of the occupant, future, or lack there-of of the "owner". The flag was likely hung there because who-ever it is, most probably can't afford Target curtains. Very little possibility that the proper hang of the flag entered that citizen's mind. This ain't Southlake or Colleywood with homeowner associations to dictate the details.

Great find Dane. Great story and emotion in the image. Keep posting them. Magic Light for sure.
