Bruce and anyone else... be extremely careful in the old Armour processing buildings. I've seen sections of the outside brick walls just fall down for no reason, other than age. Most of these old buildings are now protected by a chain link fence far enough back to keep anyone for getting hurt.

It's a shame that none can be saved and it's too expensive to take them down.

By the way, that is a good shot.

The area is also protected as a historical site. As Al says, be very careful at this site as several areas are unstable, there are holes that you can walk off into and drop 20 or so feet, and there are homeless that transit and a few that actually live in some of the buildings. The area is also very active with gang related and other graffiti artists. Also, in the interest of safety and to preserve sites like this from vandalism, please don't post information that could identify the location or entry points to an abandoned site.

Here's another photo from the same outing. This one, for some reason, reminds me of the Hiroshima Memorial.

Bruce, another good shoot.
Yep that does remind me of the building at Peace Park in Hiroshima. Did you go thorugh the museum there?
After seeing the museum, it sure make you want to make sure we never have a nuclear war.

The building is the near the Fort Worth Stockyards. I don't think it's really appropriate to say much more as to where it's located as it is trespassing to go onto the property.

oh boy, don't get the people on this thread started about tresspassing.

good photos. nice capture, nice find,

i won't bother you about how unsafe, illegal or inappropriate it was. I also won't ask you where this was. I think a big part of these being good photographs is because the exclusivity of the location, and that you found it.

I stumbled on it this week as I took a wrong turn but it was at night. I immediately recognized it from some pictures here and on another board and cursed because I had my camera but also my 2 yr old son. Not worth taking a chance at night.

It does look eerie at night though.

I know Bruce well enough to know that he wouldn't trespass. These shots can be obtained from the street.

I'd love to shoot the location in full moon light, but I have neither an arsenal nor a death wish. LOL
