Gotta love a real Texas longhorn. I am glad they didn't die out since they were a big part of Texas history. At one point in time, when they used to run wild in south Texas during the 1800's, they were considered by some as a dangerous big game species to be hunted. Kind of like the cape buffalo in Africa. Nice pictures.

Glen, have you ever talked with the trail hands or the trail boss for the FW Herd about how they select the longhorns for the herd? Great shots, by the way!

I have noticed more and more of them on ranches around the area these days.
Nice to see them "In the Wild" so to speak.

Great example of Texas "wildlife". With those horns, he might actually be fairly safe in wild.
