When I am home...I can tell which one is in service by the sound of the engines and whistles.

They use it every time I go down to shot the old one on the tracks as it goes by.

I am not sure how they do it but the old train gets switched out just before I get there.

I've been having the same problem! Saturday I heard the steam whistle at my house...Sunday at 1:30 I go up to Smithfield to grab some Pix, and guess what...The darned diesel is on the front!!!

Fortunately, I live in Grapevine, so I get lots of opportunities to catch the Tarantula in action & inaction. IMO, the trip to Ft. Worth is a definite must at least once.

It was relatively painless once I remembered my password.

Great place you've got here. I definitely need to get more involved.

Gary,

Welcome to the Forum. That's a mighty fine B&W of "Puffy" you've got there. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
