Billing itself as "English Gardens - Texas Style," Weston Gardens in southeast Fort Worth is another great site for photography.

Here's the link to their web site: http://www.westongardens.com/

This is a picture of a water lily I took today in their Perennial & Antique Rose Garden & Lily Pond section. A few other pictures can be found at: http://www.pbase.com/brucemburton/weston_gardens

I love it out there.. that would be a great spot for a DFW (or at least a Tarrant County) meetup!

Tarrant County Meetup - 04-21-2005, 09:17 PM

Weston Gardens would be a good place; there are so many.

However, one thing to keep in mind: my wife and I were at Weston today from about 3:00pm to 5:00pm; it was quite muggy already this early in the year -- uncomfortably so after about an hour.

Whatever might be planned for a Meetup from now on may very well have to be early evening (like the function you mentioned at the Botanic Gardens)--at least after 5:00pm, or else we'll wilt like petunias, and then many of these places are closing.

Plus, for settings like that with lots of shade and bright sun contrasts, the light from 11:00am to 5:00pm is extremely hard to work with. My useful shot ratio was way down today. I sound like I'm getting old.

I thought it was muggy at noon already and I know I'm old and out of shape. Don't have to think too hard about that. I just emailed my wife about this place. Got a feeling this is going to cost me.
