Need location ideas!!! - 08-11-2006, 12:39 PM

I am shooting a Bridal in October in the DFW area. I am familiar with the metroplex and how to get around, but would appreciate any and all location ideas. They live in the South Lake area so something close would be great but not necessary. She did say she wanted a location somewhat modern in look & scope (not an abandoned warehouse ). Any help??? Thanks, Phil

Downtown Dallas has a lot of cool architecture, if you're wanting to do that style. There are also certain sections of the arboretum that lend well to that.

Where is her wedding going to be held? Some of the hotels make great shooting locations and they'll work with you especially if the event will be held there.

One thing to clarify is whether she would like the pictures to have a modern/fashion feel, in which case, she's really talking more about lighting style and composition...and not necessarily about location.

EDIT: Just noticed you said Southlake area so locations above may not work as well. I would love to do a bridal near Sundance Square in Ft. Worth and we shot a great one at the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens (they will charge an hourly fee).

Thank you. She works for a high end wedding dress designer in Dallas, so the fashion feel is definatly part of what she wants & I can deliver that. The location needs to compliment that. I'll will check out those two locations. Thanks!

I would suggest Las Colinas as a good location. It's pretty near Southlake, and down along the canal there are a number of really good locations for bridals. I shoot there quite a bit.
