Plano location for bridal shoot? - 08-29-2006, 05:58 PM

I have a client who I've had to reschedule a couple of times because her dress wasn't ready. Now we're down to two weeks before the wedding with only one usable weekend night. But no pressure right?

It just happens to be the same night as her bachelorette party, so I need a location that is close enough to her house that I can get her shot and home within about 1.5hrs. She lives in Plano.

I've never shot on that side of the 'Plex. Thoughts? Looking for outdoor type locations.

That would be great! Or if someone else has a stock photo they'd like to post...

Meh, some vegetation, interesting arches, or bridges, pretty much the normal.

I've got a couple of photos taken in that park last September but I don't know how green it is now. I can't figure out how to actually post the image from SmugMug so am posting the link to the gallery I stuck them in.

As you can see there is a pavilion and a bridge, besides a train on the other side of the park. I'm not sure how close you can actually get to the train... could be a cool bridal shot. Since your bride lives in Plano I'll bet she knows exactly where this is - it's just west of downtown Plano.

Hope this helps.

I think David and Stephanie are talking about the same park/gazebo. It is really pretty and a good spot for portraits. I know of another park, Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, with a gazebo and vegetation and such on the west side of Plano, northwest of the Midway and West Parker intersection. From what I remember, it's pretty big and has lots of trees, flowers, etc.
