client wants old doors in background - 09-01-2006, 04:29 PM

She works in the flowermound area and we are doing her christmas card pics right after she gets off work. The look she wants in the background are old doors. Doors with the paint coming off...clap-boardesque. Does anyone know of anywhere in that area...abandoned old farmhouse/shack? I know downtown carrollton might work, but we might miss the golden hour if we venture too far.

I'm new to the forum by the way. I am a semi-professional trying to go pro... if photoshop doesn't blow my mind out of the back of my head before that happens.

thanks!
jen

might be a drive but.. - 09-03-2006, 09:11 AM

Check out the old buildings on the square in Palo Pinto. It is a bit of a drive, but the buildings up there have a lot of character.

Not the best quality images and probably too far away... They were shot at the Presidio La Bahia

To everyone who was interested in the doors, I went by there today and the gate was locked, I also could see where the doors are located and I hope they were just open but I could not see them.

I will have to have D check sometime this week and I will let you know, by the way they are in McKinney. so not too far.

I just hope they are still there!

I just finished set the signage at DMC for them. They have beautiful collection of mostly French antique doors

Wow those doors are amazing! Mind if I ask where in McKinney they are. I've been keeping my eye out for them as I drive through town, but haven't seen them yet. I'm guessing it's somewhere near downtown. I've seen some other neat doors in that area (no where near that cool), but they all have huge No Trespassing signs on them. I'm just outside McKinney and would be willing to check if you are just coming for that reason.
