Help: Location for a car shoot - 09-12-2006, 09:01 AM

I'm looking for a cool place to shoot some pictures of a car this Thursday. I would like to stay in the Ft Worth.
Maybe like a nighttime city shot with the car parked and motion blur of other cars going by.
I don't want somewhere to crowded, but any ideas are welcome. We plan on getting a few panning shots so some ideas on some nice clean 2 lane roads would be great also.
Any and all replies are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

P.S. - If anyone wants to loan me a wide lens to use this Thursday that would be awesome too!

I think somewhere in downtown Ft. Worth where they have some cool architecture would be nice (I'm thinking near Bass Hall/Sundance square where they light it nice and then have the car and the background in sharp focus and everything else as light trails).

What kind of car?

If you feel up to the drive, you can borrow our 10-22.

Thanks Carlo! I may take you up on the 10-22 offer.

The car is a 1995 300ZX twin turbo.

What color? I used to have a silver 300ZX twinturbo and it's still one of my most memorable cars!

Just let me know about the lens.

The car is white.

Any general advice about shooting cars would be great also.

Not sure where inside of Ft Worth you can get the space you'd need.. but you might get lucky downtown.

You could also easily get some good shots if you head west just outside of Fort Worth around where 30 and 20 meet.

If the Cats aren't playing you might try LaGrave Field just North of downtown, across the river, a block or so off of N. Main.

Thanks Amy and Paul!

Well, the Cats wont be playing because they won the American Association Championship on Sunday!!!!
Go Cats!
I have some pics from game 1 on my blog.

Anyway, we may try LaGrave Field or maybe the stockyards.......
Keep the ideas coming!

Lightbulb Ameriquest Field ?? - 09-12-2006, 09:33 PM

Jake, if the Rangers are out of town, the parking lots at Ameriquest Field can possibly give you some space and privacy, and certain views of the old-style "Ballpark" can also be a good background.
