Your in luck! About a mile away from Firewater down NW Highway is an IHOP! I forgot about the band. They have a full stage-lighted outdoor stage with stadium seating in front, a great place. We asked last time about shooting the band. The mgmt. said just ask the band, if it's OK with them, it's OK. No tripods or other industrial equipment. No prob. Good sound system, too. Bring your camera. Test those IS and VR lenses. After the buyouts at the Dallas Morning News last week, this could be your chance to break into big-time freelance concert photography. How much competition could there be? L-shape deck, one side facing the band. Even inside the feeling is like deck/porch because they open up the doors on 3 sides. Casual decor, no tablecloths on Thursday or other nights. Shooting at f/8 and 1/1000 possible if the stage lighting allows AND is supplemented by low, brightly lit reflective clouds AND if your sensor/film is sensitive into ISOs in the low to medium 4 digit range(3.2k to 25k). Neutral density filters not likely needed. I don't want to oversell it, however. Even with the big broadcasting convention in town this week, there may not be many actresses or supermodels at the Firewater Thursday night. Accept it. And thanks, Jeff, but no ear plugs for me, I like to take it all in. |

Hehe, Well all i can say is Im glad my hubby doesnt surf on TPF. He'd Be shocked to see his pretty little wife dancing on the tables (NOT!) Actually, its not the pancakes Im after! Although those are great too. What I really want is BACON! I love bacon, BLT's, Bacon and eggs, bacon and cheese omelets (This is what I will be ordering at IHOP), and Egga-Mooby Muffins with bacon! I have been trying to loose weight and SOMEONE, who is cruel and heartless, keeps teasing me and tells me every time he has it! |
