Places to take photos of a car in dfw area - 09-18-2006, 07:47 AM

Hello I am wanting to take some photos for a friend of his Mustang that he has customized. This is for a birthday present for him. It will have a model in either a bikini or lingerie. I am kind of new to the area so i really don't know that many place to have a nice background and have a model half naked. hehehe I was then going to blow the photo up to poster size and frame it for him for his garage wall. His wife knows and gave me the go ahead. So any suggestions would be great.

This may be a bit weird but you may have a rather rare opportunity at your doorstep. Some people have taken shots of how low Lake Lavon is and that there are sections that have a number of dead tree trunks with limbs that are fairly concentrated with a dry lakebed that had pretty much been dry for a while. You may want to test out the land to see if it would support a car carefully driven out there and get a rather etherial photo with the dead trees the car and the model.

Car shots are so subjective concerning the background, are you looking for a striking scenic shot? a certain style of building? a skyline? etc

So more info would really be needed to try to direct you to a location around the area.

Yes I dont really have anything in mind as of yet. the thought of the lake bed would be neat but I dont think I would want to test that in my friends car. But that was a really nice shot of the dead trees and grass/weeds. I just dont want to get in touble having a girl that is dressed as she will be in swimwear and/or lingerie. I think a shot downtown dallas at night with wet roads might be neat but dont know about having the girl there.

You might try it around the outside of the Texas Motor Speedway. That parking lot seems pretty deserted when nothing is happening there.

TMS sounds good. I have photographed several seniors with their cars in the Lowrey Woods on the campus of Texas Woman's Univ. Since most of the students are women, I'm sure a swimsuit would be no problem, Don't know about lingerie. There is a pond, an old greenhouse, and lots of green areas.
