Exclamation If you have an event printer, I may have business for you!!! - 09-20-2006, 03:58 PM

I am working with a golf tournament that wants pricing on foursome pictures. The event is in N Dallas on October 8, and there is a morning and afternoon round. I don't have total numbers on attendance yet, but I think last year they had about 200+ players total.

They want us to put text on the photos as well, so I'll probably design a PS action beforehand that we will run all of the photos thru before printing.

If you are available, and have a dye sub or other even printer and a laptop, I would like to speak with you ASAP. I want to get some estimates to them this week if at all possible. Please let me know what your per photo fee is for 4x6 and 5x7, and factor in being at the event all day (probably from about 9-6, but that will be determined later). You can quote with photography if you like, but if you do, please also provide a per print fee without photography services. Please also let me know what type of printer you would be using.

Please PM me at your earliest opportunity with a number where I can reach you if you would like to be considered.

Thanks!!!

Tom,

About a year ago, I bought 2 dye-subs...thinking about getting into event printing. A Hi-Touch 730PS which prints 4x6, 5x7 and 6x8. And a 640DL 'commercial' printer which prints 4x6.

But, unfortunatly, I don't think I'll be in Dallas around that date. Sorry. Keep me in mind for any others....sounds like it'd be fun.

I don't have time to do it that day (darn-it).. but check out Epson's R200 printer.. can be had for under $100 (although a set of inks costs $70).. and it prints 4x6's lickety split.

I will, because I'm coming across more and more of these.

I wonder approx how many 4x6's you can get out of that?

Out of one set of ink cartridges, you can usually get 300-500 4x6s, depending on settings and how much color is needed in the prints... and the color inks in the R200 replace seperately, so you don't have to replace them all at once.

I've heard good things about the R200, especially the printer price (neat 'print on CD' feature, too). Although it's not a dye sub which alot of event people prefer.
