I went to the Amon Carter today to see the exhibit
Regarding the Land.
I live about 5 miles from the museum district, and don't get there often enough.
This exhibit is really first class. If you like 3ft X 4ft Cibachrome color prints of some very interesting landscapes, this is a don't miss event. I was not familiar with Ketchum, and was drawn by the aura of Eliot Porter. The Porter photos were great, but paled in comparison to the huge Ketchum prints.
As a bonus to the Ketchum/Porter exhibit is another wonderful exhibit of 70 digital prints made from color transparencies taken by Farm Security Administration photographers between 1939-43. I actually spent more time here than in the other exhibits.
It only costs $6. It is free on Thursday evenings.
You won't be sorry you went.
