Some of my picks for Alliance Airshow - 09-30-2006, 08:35 PM

Just some of my picks from the airshow today.
Its not very good shooting because you are shooting into the sun most of the time. These are a few of my better ones.
It was hot out there today and there were a lot of people, I mean a lot of people.

All taken with the Olympus E1, 50-200mm lens with a CP.

f5.6, 1/750 at 200mm

f6.3, 1/800 at 200mm

f5.6, 1/750 at 200mm

f5.0, 1.800 at 200mm

I love the last one! Are these cropped very much? I was thinking about going tomorrow amd I wasn't too sure if 200mm would be long enough since I can't crop too much due to only having a 4 meg camera. I've got longer glass but it's heavy.

I had a 200mm there today myself and had to crop many of them. If you can take a bigger lens I would advise it. However it was pretty close to 100 out there today. A heavy lens would stink if its that hot again tomorrow.

Image 2 has the most crop to it and its a crop of this image.

I am shooting an Olympus E1 and with a 200mm lens it has the FOV of a 400 on a 35mm. The E1 is only a 5mp camera.

I was cheating a little, I was on top of our main building, I work for Fedex and that gives me a litte more hight.

I was considering going tomorrow too.. but I'd be shooting with 5D and 200mm.. Need to go pick up an extender I guess :)

Probably won't go.. Watch the Cowboy circus (I mean game) in the A/C more than likely.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I think those are the best I have ever taken of them. I just wish I was on the other side of the field so the sun was a little behind me and not in my face.

I like em. Good job and kudos to ya for getting out in the heat to get em. I think the thunderbirds shot is my favorite.
