A little different State Fair shots..... - 10-09-2006, 07:41 PM

I think everyone in north Texas was there today or most of them anyway.
It is really hard to get the shots you want when there are people walking into you all the time. I guess I needed to ware of bright colored vest or something. Its like people just were not looking at were they were going and would walk right into you.

Here are some shots from today, a little different shots.

Olympus E-1
1/250s f/5.6 at 200.0mm iso200

1/1000s f/5.6 at 200.0mm iso100

1/1600s f/3.5 at 54.0mm iso100

This I think is my favorite of the day, I just like the light on the shot.

1/80s f/3.2 at 14.0mm iso800

I went last Tuesday and it wasn't very crowded at all, going back again tommorrow.
The above is my album that I am still adding shots too and then of course I'll have more to add after tommorrow. I didn't get a chance to catch the bird show so will put that on my list for tommorrow and I guess I need to get into the Hall of State too.

There is actually a lot to see/do out there.

Thumbs up Fantastic Owl - 10-09-2006, 09:01 PM

That first one of the owl is fantastically sharp and rich in color. I also like the last one for its lighting: especially the hat at the bottom of the frame.

I like the little rubber duckys.... that is nice work...

I wanted to do some shooting of that type but there was just to many people there. It was hard to get the ones I got without getting walked on.

It took but 20 min. to get a shot of Marilyn, I did miss a great shot there. There was a little boy about 5 or 6 standing there looking up at the statue and it would been a great shot but just as I started to shot it two people walked right in front of me and then the little boy was gone.
I did get a Marilyn shot but it is just a normal shot..

Are you going to make it to the fair, it was really something, just wish there had been a few less people.

Thanks, I really like the that last shot myself, the lighting on the hat I think really makes the shot.

Well I have pretty much all of this years State Fair shots up, quite a few over 2 visits and still didn't catch the pig races this year.
http://www.pbase.com/demdeepellummus..._of_texas_2006
I posted so many because I wanted people from all over the world to get a feal as to how big and diverse the Texas State Fair is and I had very little coverage of the actual animal side of the fair since Tuesdays were not very active animal days.

Also tried to get across that we will almost deep fry anything there.
