I got to borrow a neighbors gear to play with in studio. This was attempt #1 and now that I have a 2nd light I think I'm going to try again once the busy season is over so any CC is greatly appreciated.

No. 3 is straightforward.
No. 4 everything is balanced to the degree that nothing seems important.
No. 1 a detail that would not stand alone so that the viewer could know what it represents.
No. 2 The goggles distract.

3 is just plain good, but I'll say that I like the second one best. Black just works well in that shot... and I like the goggles.

Thanks all! I have a shot almost exactly like #2 without the goggles and it felt dull and uninteresting to me. I can't wait to try again and hopefully get a bit more creative.
