You really start to find how hard it is to do night shooting of an event like this and get decent coverage. If you try to go with available lighting then you run into exposure times that are a bit too long but then when using flash you run into the limits of the flash units power and most likely blowing out subjects in the foreground.

It was rather quite this year, I saw 2 arrests and heard that there were about 3 dozen for the night in the West End and I left around midnights which is before most of the arrests for drunk and disorderly occur though the crowd was starting to thin out by then since people knew that they were getting up early the next day.

Also noticed fewer people smoking now compared to years past, in fact you see few if any in the pictures with a lit cigarette or cigar.

This is a fun event to cover and keep in mind for future years.

There was a company out of OK City that had 3 or 4 girls taking candid shots of people on the street and they had a TX and an OU background if the people wanted to stand in front of them. In fact a couple people asked if I was with the firm though their staff all were wearing bright lime green T shirts with the company website on the back.

Some of the funnier picks were taken outside of On the Border after about 10 pm, you would be amazed how friendly the intoxicated patrons were after leaving that place.
