Was using my 300mm f4 which is fine if they fly straight out from the runway. . .but sometimes they break right over us. . .

The part you got sure is sharp! I know that had to make you wish there was some ear protection.

Sopectacular images. I envy you.The last time I had the opportunity for stuff like this was in '86 while on carrier duty.

So due to my ignorance I must ask this... Are they out every day or at certain times? How do you know when to go shoot? I'd like to try it soon and would be willing to take a day off work to do it...

Andrew, they fly just about every weekday. They (the Spad F-16 guys) go out in groups of 2, 3 or 4. If you go out on a sunny weekday afternoon I can almost guarantee you'll see F-16's flying. . . either Air Force or test ships from Lockheed. . . .some days can be real busy. . .some not. . . but you'll see something flying. . .and if it's not F-16's, you'll see C-130's (Marine and Texas ANG) and also F-18's from the Navy and Marine squadrons. . .and the occasional transit aircraft stopping in for gas (like the Alabama guy I shot today). . . it's an interesting place to spend an afternoon. . . but you have to invest a good 2-3 hours of time. . . If you see a white chevy Tahoe with a TCU sticker on hit, stop by and say hello. Keith

Was this one about 3:00 pm? Saw two take off, and the second one turned right and dipped his wing just about where you shoot from. I told the guy I was with that he was showing for the photographers.

We were waiting and watching for them to spin up the engine in the new JSF.

Nice shots, as always.
