Found a website with a chronological history of LHO-

So are these places in Ft Worth Still around?

1956
July

Marguerite, Lee, and Robert move to Collinswood Street in Fort Worth. (I'll see if I can find a #.

September

Lee enrolls at Arlington Heights High School. (he later drops out then enters the Marines)
1962
July

14th: The Oswalds move in with Marguerite at 1501 W. 7th Street in Fort Worth.

17th: Lee obtains a job at Louv-R-Pak Division of the Leslie Welding Company.

August

10th: The Oswalds move to 2703 Mercedes St. in Fort Worth.
October

Marina and June move in with Elena Hall while Lee looks for work in Dallas.

9th: Lee rents a PO box under his own name at the main Post Office.

12th: He begins work at Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall. (522 Browder-near Old City Park)

15th: Lee moves into the YMCA. (this building was torn down over 15 years ago)
November

4th: The Oswalds are reunited at 604 Elsbeth St. in Dallas, where Lee had found an apartment. (I will check out this location today)
1963
March

2nd: The Oswalds move to 214 West Neely Street. (I will check out this location today, both this address and the Elsbeth address are in Oak Cliff just a few blocks north and east from the Texas Theatre/Jefferson)

October
7th: Ruth drives Lee to the bus station, and he returns to Dallas to look for work. Later, Lee obtains a room at 621 Marsalis St. (don't know if it is S or N but would guess north-will check out both locations) He lived here for less than a week.
14th: Ruth drives Lee to Dallas, where he later registers as O. H. Lee at a new rooming house at 1026 North Beckley.

Lee for some reason gave the cab driver in downtown after the assassination an address of 500 N Beckley and gets out of the cab at 700 N Beckley which are both south of his roominghouse. (I will look at both areas).

Marsalis (N) is an empty lot now. The 214 W Neely is the infamous house wher LHO is holding the rifle in the back yard-they wanted $7.50 to go into the back yard! I shot across a vacant lot into the back yard which really shows how small that yard is/was. 604 Elsbeth is right around the corner from the Neely house! Apt Building still there-looks like 604 goes into a stairwell that breaks out into 4 apartments on 2 floors.

1026 N Beckly is still there and in nice shape, yard had nice flowers.

500 N Beckley is basically about where Beckley/Zang and Davis all come together so I could see him going there to get into a crowd.

522 Browder is about where the reflecting pool at CITY HALL is now.

Nothing of significance at 700 N Beckley, guess he decided to go back to his room to get a pistol?

Now he shot Officer Tippit at 10th and Patton and that is actually east of Beckley but just a bit off of Jefferson Blvd (500 E Jefferson) If you are going down Beckley towards Jefferson you do reach that area where there is a lot of foot traffic but for some reason he moved over about a block, probably where 8th/Beckley/Patton come together. Since he was familiar with the area-Jefferson was the main shopping drag then as it is now- he knew that the street curves as you go west from the 500 block so you can not be seen for a long distance because of the curve by anyone in a car going down Jefferson. Then also along the street there are all sorts of alcoves/entrances to shops (now as then) that would allow a person to step in and not be seen on the street until you came right to the shop entrance, in fact he was seen stepping into such an alcove at a shoe store near the Texas Theatre.

I kinda covered on foot his route from his Boarding House on Beckly to where he shot the officer and then down Jefferson to the Theatre. I also took shots of the other houses/apts that they lived in that I know the addresses of. She at times and he at other times stayed with friends in the area also.

It occurs to me that all this happened 42 years ago. So, suppose a place was torn down 40 years ago, and a new place built. Would you be able to tell it was not the original place? And seems this would be more of a problem with Bonnie and Clyde.

I remember reading about Bonnie and Clyde, that their part of town wasn't the good part then, either. I know that Fishtrap Cemetery doesn't look like the place to hang out for long with a camera.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

Really you can tell pretty quick even on the Bonnie and Clyde pics if the building is of the period or later and it is real easy with the Lee Harvey Oswald since the boarding houses/homes/apartments that they lived in back in the 60's were all older buildings constructed in the 30's or before and a vacant lot is a vacant lot. Now with the old B+C locations sometimes street numbers change and that messes things up a bit -some Ervay addresses were not positive until I actually talked to the building occupants now and they could confirm the addresses were the same as in 1930.

Really Lamar was just a working class neighborhood where Bonnies Mom lived and Clydes sister lived and Bonnie lived at on and off while that particular area has little housing stock now-just empty lots.

Well I live in the area during this period and have been to all of those locations at the time this happened. I can tell you allot has changed in the area since then and could tell you if the buildings you find were standing at that time.

I grew up in Oak Cliff and went to Sunset High School as did both of my older brothers. We lived on 8th street when I was born. I went to the "Texas" every friday night during this time. I also worked in this area for the last 35 years as a social worker.

If you have any questions about what buildings were standing during that time let me know. I use to have some pics of the area during that time but i'm not sure where they are.

I also explored the area Bonnie and Clyde frequented. Allot of the old buildings were still standing during the 50's but most are gone now. I do know where the structures stood though.

Come to think of it, I know of one property that has had at least three different street addresses through the years, although the same identical location- that could mess things up.
