Cool effect. Some folks around here were doing this with their Christmas trees last year--including me.

Well done.. I did something similar on Beale Street in Memphis, TN a couple years ago.. really adds an interesting dimension to the photo.

David - I set the camera on a tripod and used a slow shutter speed (4 sec.) and then slowly zoomed after pressing the shutter.

I used my Sigma 10-20mm at 20mm. F/13 @ 4sec. ISO 100 for the zoomed effect. The other one were the exact same settings except at F/11 at 16mm.
