random parade stuff - 12-03-2006, 06:02 PM

i took a ton of shots at the parade and even though they're probably ok for parade shots... they bored the hell out of me, hahaha. i processed a bunch of shots of kids that i liked a lot more, but once i got to the actual parade event shots i stopped bothering after the senior citizen drill team. shots of the floats and such don't do much for me i guess. so anyway - here are the few i actually bothered to do.

In the first pic what ever the child is eating just looks plain scary lol. I really like the one that is second from the end, I sure hope that that is not her real hair lol but they are all good

What, the Senior Citizen Drill Team doesn't do it for you?

I'm not real impressd with parades anymore. They used to be special because of all the floats and bands, etc. Now it seems like they just let anyone into them. They're boring now.

BTW - very nice shots. I like the one of the lady with the Bride-of-Frankenstein hairdo (second from last). The expressions on the kids faces are priceless.

These are really nice Jez. I especially like the one of the kid wearing the red hooded coat. Parades are hard to shoot with still photos. You did a good job concentrating on the crowd.

The kid in green is great. And I do find that at parades, a lot of the interest is the crowd and the cops, rather than the parade entries themselves. Last parade I went to was the Garland Labor Day Parade- marching bands, local politicians in cars, not a lot of excitement. Even if they have great floats, a gillion people will be taking identical pictures of them.

I remember as a small kid going to the Brazoria County Fair Parade and one of the highlights was an actual Army Tank in the parade. We recently had a veterans day parade with "military vehicles", but I didn't see any tank pictures from it.

Well, went to the Garland Christmas Parade- short but fairly decent just the same. I took a Dollar Camera with flash, have no idea what the results will be.
