Make a Wish Foundation needs some help - 12-04-2006, 05:00 PM

I'm doing some pro bono work for the Dallas office (located in Las Colinas) of the Make a Wish Foundation this Saturday, and could use some assistance.

They are going to be doing Santa Clause photos for about 75 kids, and will be using two armless chairs pushed together to be about the size of a love seat (a high back armchair isn't an option, because some of the special needs kids would have a hard time getting up and down).

They need something to cover the chairs with, like a velvet drape. Ideally, it would be a dark green color, but black would suffice (there's an old story about beggars, right?).

Does anyone know of something like that (approx 10x10) that might be able to be donated for a day? I'm sure they would really appreciate it. They called J&S, but they couldn't help them.

Thanks in advance!

Tom

Tom,
I have a huge canvas drop cloth that's a beige color, but could be dyed or painted in a pinch.
Holler at me if you need it.

Tom - I have two bolts of black velvet that I use as backdrops, but they might not be big enough. Each is about 2 1/2 yards long and a yard and a half (I think) wide. I usually pin them together for the backdrop. Let me know if you could use those. I'll find a way to get them to you...

Thanks--that might work--do you have a photo of it as is? I don't think dyeing is an option

I'm thinking we'd need 10x12 or so, but thanks anyway!

No photos of it as is, unfortunately. It's just a beige canvas painters drop cloth. Nothing too fancy. They paint up pretty well, with either spray paint (for a mottled look) or latex paint, either rolled or brushed on.

Just trying to bump this thread--they're still looking for something suitable if anyone can help.

Thanks!
