I have a huge favor to ask...

I'm heading out on a cross country trip to California and back 12/14-12/24, with stops at Saguaro NP, Grand Canyon, and Painted Desert NP. The widest lense I have is a 24mm prime, and I was hoping to spring for a 17-40 or 10-22 before I left, but it's just not going to happen. Likewise, I don't see springing for a 10 day rental either.

Is there someone that might not be using their copy of either of these lenses for 10 days in the middle of the Christmas season?

I will gladly replace the lense with a brand new copy should the owner be dissatisfied with the manner in which their lense has been treated. I know this is HUGE favor to ask, so please don't feel compelled to help me out if you have any reservations at all. I just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks for reading!

Have you been to any of these locations before?
A 24 (36 with 1.5 crop factor) will grab a lot of landscape since in most of these shots you will be a few feet/miles from the subject and at 36mm you get a pretty wide pic. In fact I found that the wide angles in reguards to shoot the GC were best used when shooting across the canyon but when shooting down the canyon higher mm lenses worked better since the canyon isn't that wide. There are some great shooting spots on the North Rim but I bet the road is closed for the season so you have to shoot from the south-the north has some areas that jut out into the canyon that are easy to get too while similar penesulas or fingers on the southern rim usually require a hike into the canyon to get to.

If you have even 30 extra minutes GET OFF THE RIM and down a trail.

Now in reguards to the Saguaro NP one section of it is in better shape than the other but neather are as nice as they were 30 years ago- cactus have been dying on them and they think it is pollution. I belive the Saguaro has to be at least 75 years old before it develops the arm like features that people associate with them. Also when they die the inner core will look like a giant luffa pad and they can stand for decades on their own before wind or beast takes them down.

Now the Wide Angle can come in handy in the Painted Desert but even a 24 will do pretty good for you.
