Looking for a location that looks like..... - 12-24-2006, 03:57 PM

I have a band promo shoot coming up in the next month or two and they want a photo of them taken in front of what looks like an old run down insain assylum. Anyone know where something like this is? or something that looks like that around the DFW area?
Thanks in advance!

Try the slaughterhouse out by the Fort Worth Stockyards... there's a thread around here somewhere that Norm started that has pictures.

I second the slaughterhouse. I had a friend take some some band shots out there that had that feel to them. Although I asked her about where it was and she said that it may have been demolished...

I agree with that if you can get into it. Nothing says 'ward' like a ward.

Used to be a few homeless people wandering through the place...gave it some atmosphere.

I think Parkland has been secured but you can still shoot on the outside of it-maple side is facing pretty much north.

The slaughter house would be a good place cynthia their are some more pictures of it on my website under clients then public. If you go watch your step their are holes in the floor everywhere. And stay toghether their are people that use it for shelter especially this time of year with nights getting colder

I really don't feel that the "Meat Packing Plant" would be good for asylum style photos. I know of an abandoned sanitarium in Ft. Worth that might prove much better. Of course the Baker Hotel would be best but I haven't been able to get hold of the property manager for some time now. I also know of several other locations that might be a better match for what you're looking for. PM me for details.

Here are a few pix of it.

ohhhh DOKK that would be EXCELENT! I talked to the band, what they really want is the Old wrought iron fence with this really creepy looking run down abandoned place in the background that looks like it could be an asylum. Which I think the meat packing plant stairs would be a good place, but if you know of any better place let me know Dokk. I know you have the hook up! hehehe
