Dane, I like the picture a lot, as I have all of your's: well composed, sharp and mildly humorous IMHO. In the context of the dozens and dozens of photos you've posted on TPF, it's a "Dane Tessler" for sure.

I too like it. Even though it appears others don't.

It must be great feeling to know that your photos generate such a reaction. Excellent job.

i deleted the original threads not because of the photo itself but because of the 'discussion' afterwards...

i did not see the 'discussion' as being beneficial to either party so i deleted the thread....

maybe a title such as "Don't Jump!" would have given a different vibe.

Yikes...never even had a chance to read the alleged "discussion".

Maybe I should have titled the image "Not Contemplating Suicide" or "Picture of a Picture of a Man in a Windowsill in Downtown Fort Worth".

it is a VERY touchy subject... for those that deal with it on a daily basis as well as with those whom have had a loved one actually commit suicide.

just try to see it from their point of view. and then you can see why some are upset with the title.

also...

a friend from another online community actually posted a thread with a very similar title but meant EVERY word of it.

many people replied to his thread ASAP including myself, many called him personally but got no answer, within 10-15 minutes of the posting another member who lived nearby went to his house and nobody answered the door.

they called the police and once they arrived, they found our dear friend Danny inside... He had in fact gone through with it.

its been almost 3 years now since Danny has left us... He is very missed.

as for this thread, i honestly got chills up and down my body when i first read the title simply because it brought me back to that time in which we lost a great friend. i quickly clicked on this thread hoping to god that it was not repeating itself and if it were, that i was not too late...
