McKenna Hicks. Grand Prize Winner!

If this hasn't already been mentioned, McKenna Hicks (of Tom Hicks, Pug Mark Park fame) won the Grand Prize in the recent Dallas Zoo's 'Feathers, Fur, and Scales' photo contest. The youngen got almost a 3/4 page spread w/ picture and commentary in the 1/04/07 centerfold of the Dallas Morning News Kid's Day Section.

Thanks Steve, she was quite excited about the win . Cathy Burkey the lady at the zoo that runs the shoot was more excited than anybody. this was the forth year they had it and was the first time a kid won the grand prize specially a 10 year old.

You just keep her learning Tom, it may be a way to send her to college on someone else's money, ie: scholarship, and that's never a bad deal.
That winner was a beautiful picture even if it hadn't won...

Have Mckennna enter the Heard Nature photo contest. It starts in February. She would be
entered in under 18 age class. I think she would have a very good chance of winning,
I will e-mail you the rules and entry forms. I will also bring you, and if anyone elso
wants some rules and entry forms to the Jan. 20th Tiger shoot. This contest draws
over 600 entries fom all over Texas.

Just got my 5yr old boy a little film camera for Christmas.. I hope he will get the bug...He certainly know his daddy spends a lot of time at it...
