Need help finding location - 01-08-2007, 02:00 PM

Hi there everyone. I've been lurking (and learning) so much since I started browsing the forum...so thank you to all! My first post.. a plea for help...

I have a portfolio building shoot (read..I would rather not have to pay for the location) coming up where I'm shooting a "bride and groom" in a classic musclecar.

I need to find an "appropriate" (ie church or lush vegetation) setting where I can plug a few 550W floods in.

Here's the other rub. Client wants the shoot on a SUNDAY in the 12 noon to 5 PM timeframe. (I set the 5PM limit due to darkness falling early this time of year). I'd like a spot that may have some cover at high noon so I don't have a squinty-eyed couple.

I've also committed to do some headshots for the "bride" to add to her portfolio, and she may want some full length shots also.

Ideally the site would be somewhere on the east side of downtown (as far east as Rockwall will work).

Any suggestions?? Thank you!

Geoff

I have no help for the local but I will say that I like to do outdoor shoots after 5:00pm this time of year.
Right after the sun go's down the sky have a great color for a short time. If you can't find a great spot just find a clear one facing west.

Sorry that doesn't help your question much though........

I sent you a PM. You might also consider the park south of I-30 at Dalrock road, or down around the Arboretum.

I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.
