here is a link with some basic information. there is a lot of variation in the results you will get depending on the brand and model camera you have. that image variation further requires different post porcessing to get out an image that looks like images you see posted by myself or others. so, there is no one set of information that can be passed on that will get you into IR.

If you shoot a Sony 717, I can and will give you a step-by-step of what I do. If you use a DSLR, I have some basic ideas, but DSLRs are very different than the 717 in IR ability. I don't have a DSLR and therefore no experience except for reading on the internet.
