Camera Stop is great. Very friendly people.

I didn't like the service at all at Competitive Cameras. The salesmen ignore you until you've waited around for at least 15 minutes. Though I must admit that they have a good selection.

Fort Worth Camera is pretty nice. A bit disorganized, but they usually know what they're doing and will hold stuff for you if you call. They also rent equipment if you're looking for any.

I'm going to go check out Arlington Camera this weekend or next week. They're one of our sponsers and I've heard good things about them. I need a new lens (since mine is missing), a new bag and a few assorted odds and ends so I might check them out.

ETA - I just went over to Arlington Camera today and they were great. I did check to make sure my lens was in stock, but this morning they sold all four that they had. They offered to loan me their loaner (but I didn't need it right now) and will be shipping me the lens when it comes in (because I live out in BFE and it's a haul to get down there). I should have that by the end of the week or early next week at the latest. I brought my husband, daughter and a long list. They were very helpful there finding exactly what I needed without me spending hours there (where my husband and daughter would not have been too happy with). PM them if you've got any questions. They're great on getting back to you really quickly with any info you need.

I have dealt with Arlington Camera for over 20 years. Top notch people and a good selection of stuff. Ask for Gil.

I also recommend Arlignton Camera. Great staff that is very knowledgable and will help you out from the minute you walk into the store.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Competitive Cameras in Dallas. Top notch service and support (I've bought 5 cameras there in 2 years), the latest being a new Canon 5D w/ grip this afternoon.

I have also bought several bags from them also. I primarily deal with Eugene or Ramsey (the owners).

It's a personal preference for me. I learned that I prefer less-friendly but there (and goes above and beyond) when you need help and post-sale service, rather than friendly and no help later (which was my experience to my nearby store)!

Don't know anyone in the N.Irving/Dallas/Plano/Richardson area. It may be a bit of a drive for you, but I'll reiterate that Arlington Camera rocks. Plus, they are a forum sponsor.
