This is a LIMITED NUMBER OF PERSON HIKE!

You will get to go onto the Buckeye Trail to see Texas Buckeyes!
I'm registered and ready to go!

Been on the Buckeye hike before and expect, bugs, water, mud, snakes and other critters.
In March they have the actual Buckey Trail hike when the trees are in bloom
http://www.texasbuckeyetrail.org/hikes.html but if you are familiar with the area you can go in yourself since it is public land that is supposed to be developed into a park with hiking trails.

I see 4 people have registered to the list since I did, any of them TPF folks that I can look forward to meeting next week?

I have never been on one of these particular style hikes where you have a card and get it punched so that looks interesting to learn spots and particular trees.

Now since this is an open park it does not mean that we have to leave after 12:30 and that we can then go back onto the trails with tripods and shoot after the Orienteering people have left to do some landscape work and discover what the forest is hiding in our own backyards. I plan to do that-will have the camera with me while doing the hike with a walkingstick/monopod in hand both for balance and possible stabilization while shooting.

So if anyone doesn't want to do the "orienteering" thing but wants to get into the forest they can join us when we go back in after 12:30 since we should have a better idea of the layout of the forest and what is in there to shoot.

While there Sat I will ask about the Palms that was discussed on the boards last year that I never did find and see if anyone there can give me directions as to where they are.

BTW the above hike is FREE to participate!
