The HO-160 is a Texas approved form that everyone uses. There is NO restriction on how you use your insured property that is listed. I have diamond rings, rolex watches, camera equipment and antique clocks on mine. For some things you will need an appraisal that is filed with the agent or carrier. This is the absolute cheapest insurance you will ever buy. It covers against everything, except what is excluded, and that isn't much. I have been an adjuster for 39+ years and I wouldn't be caught dead without this coverage. On cameras, you get a copy of the sales receipt, give it to the agent or company, and pay so much per hundred. If you drop it in the middle of Lake Texhoma 5 years later, they owe you the amount of coverage you have paid for. If you had a Canon A-1 insured for its actual cost way back yonder and the Limit of Liability has not been lowered, they owe that amount PERIOD!!! Even State Farm and Farmers can't screw you out of it. If they try, use the phrase "Punitive Damages". That might get their 3-day wonder adjusters to actually read the form. |
