Leslie,
I've been trying since this morning to get this message to you via both Yahoo and this board. For some reason it is being returned as bad addy even though the first few letters and replies went in fine:
Here is the link....quite the character, eh?

PS-Talked to Mike. He said that this weekend is gonna be a zoo down there. My son is going to spend the summer with his dad starting Mid June. Would that be a good time for ya?

Hey Cindy!
I think I've had some problems with my email. I've gotten most of the message, but I have had an email error message come up, so I have no idea how many emails I've lost. I hope it clears up! Thanks for the link! I'll check it out. As far as when, the only for sure plans I have are: going to the coast this Thursday, then to Houston. We should be back in Dallas by the 2nd. I also have a pj seminar on the 26th of June. Other than that, I'm pretty flexible. Weekends work best so that way Scott doesn't have to take off work. Let me know what works best for you! Thanks again!

Hehehe!! That is too funny! Quite the character! Will be fun to work with him. We have to make contact with him, somehow, before we go, preferrably. I want to get more than just him standing on the street, go more into his life, if he lets us. Should be fun!

I don't know how we could get ahold of him because he's homeless. I thought it would be fun to talk to the cops he torments too.
I imagine if we put out a beacon to the Austin Folks, we might be able to get some more info. What do you think?
Yes, weekends are definately best for me. :D

Yeah, I think that sounds good. Talking to the cops is an excellent idea. We need to cover the whole story from all sides. I wasn't sure if we would be able to make contact with him beforehand. It might be a situation where we need to go there first and talk it over with him. We might be able to do the whole thing at that point, or we might have to make another trip there to finish up the story. We can just see how it goes. I'm thinking I will need to get a flash for this, especially if we do nighttime stuff, which I'm sure we will do. I'd like to try some gels in my flash.

The homeless guys and day workers would be good too. I can't believe the shot I missed when I was leaving town. Here my gear is in the back of the car, and we pass by Leslie, this time in an asian style wigs, high heel clogs and a miniskirt who is the only person standing in the center of a bunch of seated Day Workers. "She" was talking and they were all looking up at her. Damn!
Anyway, about the flash, we just got one of those super jazzy Canon $500 jobs. I just don't know how to use it yet. LOL!!!!! Just tell me what you think we will need and I'll try to lay my mits on it.

Damn, that would have been a great shot! I up for doing anything on the homeless and day workers. This guy I know that won a Pulitzer with the Dallas Morning News actually lived with the homeless for a couple of months. He's an awesome photog. He won the Pulitzer last year with Cheryl Diaz-Meyer for their work in Iraq. Anyway, I'm bringing 1 digital ('cause that's all I have) and my film camera to shoot b&w's. If I get a chance to get a flash, I have Nikon, then I will bring that with a couple of colored gels. A pj that I know that shot the uprising uses gels a lot, so I guess it's ok for pj work. He won all the major prizes for his uprising coverage. I also want to photograph where Leslie sleeps and perhaps him getting ready and stuff. The more in-depth, the better and better chance it will sell. Can you write at all? I'm a terrible writer. I've written some stories, but they are not very good. Also, we need to take great notes because we need really good captions. Captions often sell the photos. If we get some really cool stuff, Zuma might be interested for their photo essays section.

Hey, I've heard of that guy. AWESOME STUFF!
Yeah, I'm totally interested in the homeless too. They all have fascinating, albiet tragic stories. As far as the photography goes, I'll be taking your lead sister girl. I'm just looking forward to a fantastic learning experience.
I use to write, years ago. I even held a WGA card for a few years because a crappy (and I do mean pure ****) script I wrote sold for the $13000 I needed to to get the card. I never sold anything after that though.
Anyhow, I can try. I'm sure between the two of us we can come up with some good type.

Geez girl!! $13,000!! I'd say you must be a pretty good writer! I think it's gonna be a blast! We will probably both learn from each other, but I'll be happy to teach you whatever I know. I'm a little crazy this way, but if he sleeps on the streets, I am one that would want to sleep there with him and photograph the whole thing. I kind of get into my stories a little bit. I am actually supposed to sleep on the streets at some point in Haiti with a street kid I know named Evans. Haven't had a chance to do that yet. But, eventually I will. I'm also working on a couple of other stories, still gathering info. I think I have someone going with me on those, but if not, you can come. I really need to start doing some local stuff.

Also, blonboy, you think you're up for this sort of thing? We are 2 very adventurous girls!!

LOL!! If only......

I could only hope to do something as adventurous. Although i do think it would be a complete blast (ROAD TRIP!!) and a very thorough learning experience, I might wait until there is something a little closer to the neighborhood.

Id absolutely love to be able to photograph in a pj-istic style of storytelling thru raw emotion and mere images and im certain i could learn doing something like this.

You guys (gals) have any plans on doing anything close in the near future?

I mean, yes Austin is close but CLOSER....

We'll definitely be doing something closer, as well. Sorry Cindy to make this assumption on your behalf, but I hope we also do things closer, together. I know I will be. You can come along when we do something in Dallas.

Sure, it's all good!
As for the script, I had an inside track with the movie industry so it doesn't really count. You have to trust me that it was really REALLY bad. LOL!
I wanna sleep on the street! I'm no GIRL! (I have 6 brothers and when I was little they would taunt me and tell me I couldn't do things because I was a girl. Like being a girl was something horrible. After a while, I just started screaming back at them that "I am NOT a girl!!!!" The saying just kinda stuck and maybe that's why I'm adventure junkie now.) 8)
