Hey, it snowed in Utah today and nobody cared. Now, if the sun would shine, that would be something to talk about!

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I just sort of assumed that all the ice problems around Dallas were due to drivers being less prepared for ice. But after living in northern Colorado for several years, I found that's not really the case. To have a good ice storm, you have to have liquid falling from the sky and freezing as it hits. In colder, drier climates, that's just not as common. You'll get snow, and hail in the summer, but don't get as much hard slick ice as we do here. Getting much snow here would gum up the works but then it does up there, too- I've inched along a few times myself- and it's not uncommon to have freeways closed down due to snow problems.

---------------------------
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

My son was up in Colo. when the first snow storm hit a month or so ago.
Ended up renting a car to get out a few days later.
But he did say for how bad it was they had the roads in o.k. shape
