WOW! That IS a little high!

Oh, and the pics from the other aquarium are interesting... i kinda like the motion blur in the eel.

FYI, another excellent aquarium is the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.... its a 4 story trip through the different habitats along the Tennessee River. There's a catfish in there whose head looks to be about 3 feet wide (that's one big smile!!).

For image critique - not a bad start. I know shooting in that light is tough, have tried similar aquariums before. The tank one is a bit out of focus, or has motion blur. Maybe try using a monopod, or shoot a bunch of the same tank to get one that's crisp. Your best bet is to use a monopod, and then shoot with an SLR so you can get a fast lens and higher ISO. That eel shot says it was 1/2 a second, which is way too slow to keep it sharp.

For the turtle, would love to see his face. Although, I know...the animals don't always listen to requests unless you can be super patient and wait, which isn't easy with the kiddos there.

For the seahorse, would like to see him come out to the side with the light some, again...one of those incoorporative animals not doing what you asked. :-)

I have to disagree too. The Dallas World Aquarium is by far the worst aquarium i have ever visited. They should drop the misleading "World" in its name. IMO, none of the inland states have good aquariums. A "well worth it" aquarium is the Monterey Bay Aquarium in CA.

Well, to appreciate the Dallas World Aquarium, you have to get used to having the aquarium at Fair Park as the only other option. It's not a bad aquarium, just not an awe-inspiring sight, either.

Now I'll definitely second that. I got shots of the Great White they had there in 2005. That's a pretty nice aquarium.

OK, since it is already topic a little bit, has anyone ever been to Oklahoma Aquarium (outside of Tulsa)? How is the photography? We are thinking of taking the kids on spring break.

Oh I ment around here!! hehehe I TOTALLY agree that it isnt the best in the US by ANY means! hehehe i went to the aquarium at the mall of america and it was only like 8 bucks per person and it was an ALL day admission kind of deal. I LOVED That one. MUCH MUCH better then the dallas world aquarium by ALL means. I cant IMAGINE what the one in CA or Atlanta is like. I bet they are Fantastic.

Here's some sample from the OK aquarium - 02-20-2007, 01:57 PM

A photo friend in OK shot these and should give you an idea of what to expect: http://www.pickyourshots.com/-/picky...y.asp?cat=4134 I think she was real pleased with the aquarium and her results.
