Mooned

Headed home from the local photography club meeting last nite and i noticed that the moon had some really nice cloud formations around it. I stopped by a local park (Woodruff, Plano) to try and get the moon and its reflection. Unfortunately without a grad ND i compromised the moon to expose the rest of the scene and the moon got a little blown out. So...all in all, not just a real exciting scene - but i do like the silhouette of the couple on the park bench under the tree to the left side of the image.

Matthew, you seem to catch a number of excellent pics just on your way to someplace or coming from another place. You must have a wonderful eye for the possibilities so many of us might pass by. :)

LOL - bruce thats kind of funny, i never realized that until you mention it that yes, most of my posts have involved me being enroute to somewhere or something.

The thing of it for me is that I have my camera on me at ALL times - ok i do leave the bag at home sometimes but I FEEL NAKED if i dont have it.... but i feel so...so...so....EMOTIONAL if i have to leave it behind LOL.

I guess for me besides being a photofreak, i just want to make sure i have the tools when the opportunity presents itself.

How many of us can relate to that perfect setting sun we see on the way home, but by the time we get to the house, pull out and set up the gear and then rush to get in a good place, have we completely lost the moment?

For this shot last nite - all i knew was that i wanted the clouds and the moon - but then i thought.....well that would be pretty boring - so then i thought i could put some trees to silhouette in front of it so i kept driving - the next thing i know im at this park and i look out and ...WATER!! Then i knew i had what i was after - hence this photo.

The funny thing is that i didnt get what i originally was after - THE MOON!!!
