Need downtown FW portrait locale suggestions - 02-07-2007, 06:50 PM

A couple of friends of mine (married couple) want to do a portrait session in downtown Fort Worth. Since that's a large area, does anyone have a recommendation as to specific location(s)? Needs to be free of charge.

There are some nice areas near the courthouse and down by the river on the west side of downtown or you could go to Trinity Park and look for a location there. Good luck

Thanks, Kevin. Guess I'll have to make a trip down there this weekend and have a look around.

The Stock yards also make for a good spot. The train, the corrals, and on the S.E corner is an old stage and an old bar. If you want to go look around, yell at me and I might go with you.

Don't forget the Botanical Gardens.... however, if they are lookin for the urban landscape you may need to stay closer to the Sundance Square area. Just go wander around downtown, there's too much to see.... look for little out of the way spots. Bring a map annd mark spots, or you may not be able to find them later!

Anthony

PS: Don't be afraid to do some shots after dark.... it could be a challenge, but there's lots of fun neon to use as backdrops.

I try to keep the backgrounds in portraits as innocuous as possible unless there is some very special reason the customer wants to be associated with. I do go to the Botanical Gardens on occasion because clients have heard that it is a popular place.

That said.. Does the client have a special attachment to something downtown ?
Does the background have to say "This is Fort Worth" ?

Try Trinity park across the river from downtown and the downtown skyline will be in the background.

Depending on the timing, I'd also be happy to go around with you to check out locations.
