lots of white herons

Passing over White Rock Creek on NW Hwy (N. Dallas) this morning at about 8, there were probably 100 medium sized white herons and a a half dozen pelicans on either side of the short bridge. Not the greatest or most beautiful location but it IS convenient if you're interested but only have a few minutes to shoot... At least a few herons are there every morning but this is the first time I've seen pelicans there. The rush hour traffic on the road directly next to them seems to have little effect on the birds from what I've seen.

The white one is mostly great egret with small number of snowy egret when the weather gets warmer. The white Pelicans been there for century i believe, they migrated from cold winter up North in late OCT to Early March. Few of them stay at white rock lake, I seen as many as 200 in late Feb.
