Well I would say that is a cute one, and the title is just right......
I was out there last year about this time, there is a lot of photo ops and the thing I really liked is all the color that is around you.
Here is my little galery from last year. http://www.pbase.com/wlhuber/the_track

I have wanted to go out there to shoot. I've only been there 1 time and not to shoot. Are the pretty open to photogs walking around and taking pictures? Most tracks are pretty open, but I haven't been there since 9-11.
Thanks for sharing. | | | |

Howdy Srini,
Yep, that was me in the pic, the second one!!!
What a wonderful place to shoot pics at wasn't it. I had such a good time, we were there meeting family, but Karen and I have already talked about going back.
I'll have to check my pics again to see if I got some of you in there.

Craig

I was somewhat concerned about that issue myself, so I had my Dear Wife call. They have no objection to bringing cameras and taking pictures, their only stipulation is they asked for us not to take pictures of the patrons.
I think it would really be a neat event for all of us in the DFW area to meet out there some Friday evening after work and meet and take pics all evening. I can't hardly think of a place that has that many photo ops in one place and for only a 3 dollar entrace fee and I think it was 3 dollars to park also. You might organize a "Shootout". My wife and I would be up for it!!

Hello Craig, it was wonderful looking at your pictures, it was nice to see the event through someone else's eyes.. everything looked so familiar.
My workplace is a stones throw from the park, I mean literally.. but its my second time there, I once went there a couple of years ago for the July 4th celebrations. It is a wonderful place to shoot as there are so many emotions that you can see, mostly winning and losing, plus the wonderful horses.
The wildflower pictures that I placed in my gallery are from a location behind the race-track on Hunter-Ferrel road and Beltline. Maybe the next time we can meet each other..
Thanks for the comments.. Srini RR
One more of you, I did see myself in one of your pictures, I am guessing it is the same jockey as this picture.. quite a coincidence..

Howdy Srini,
It really is a small world, I am posting the pic I have of you. I think it was one of my favorite Jockey's. In that last pics that is my Wonderful Wife Karen and her new DSLR!!
We need to have a ShootOut some Friday Evening, it shouldn't be too far for anyone in particular and like Srini said there was so many things to shoot.
Hope to see you soon!! There is a Horse Jumping Competion in Fort Worth that Brad and JerryK are trying to get organised, if you would be interested?

Craig

Hello Craig, Lone Star park is surely a great place to take pictures... Let me know when you are planning to go back there, the "Trinity Horse" photo op, I am waiting for the final confirmation, surely it looks like a great place to shoot.. I am most certainly all for it.... Srini RR | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
