Canals at Las Colinas - 02-28-2007, 06:40 AM

I'm taking Saturday as a "Photography Day". No wife, no kid, no nothing except me and my camera. I'll be out from sun-up until after sundown. I plan on heading out to Teddy Bear Park, River Legacy Park, Lone Star Park, Dallas Arboretum, and Las Colinas. I'm not real familiar with Las Colinas and am hoping that someone can tell me how to find some of the more photographic locations along the canals. Directions would be great.

Thanks!

Find the Texas Bar and Grill and that is the popular location for photo-ops or the Omni Mandalay hotel. That is usually where I meet my brides is at the hotel and then we walk down to the canals from there.

Williams Square, about 1/2 block from the Mandalay Hotel, is also a popular spot because of the large equestrian sculpture.

Cool Canal shots! - 03-02-2007, 09:17 AM

I shot there a couple weeks ago, don't miss the awesome alleyway with nice columns that run along the canal behind that sports bar! If you time it right there are great shadows! I can post some later that I took if you like!

If you want people shooting with many in costume go to the North Texas Irish Fest at Fair Park. (heck you could even take the family and leave them to their own means while you go off doing your thing).
