Looking for Lake or Pond with an old fashion pier. - 03-05-2007, 05:13 PM

I live close to DFW Airport and went to lake Grapevine looking for and old fashioned wooden pier that goes a little ways into the water but, could not find one. Does anybody know of a lake or pond that might have one of these old piers within driving distance? There has to be one some where. I grew up in Ennis and I know there are some around Lake Bardwell or Lake Clark there but, was hoping to find something a tad bit close.

You would be lucky to find any pier that even gets to the water with all the drought (sp?) we've had.

I could think of 3 at white rock lake. As it's the prime time for gull birds right now, there's only one at Garland rd (near the dam) that's clean, the rests are filled birds poops. :)
