Dallas Zoo - 03/10 - 03-12-2007, 11:38 PM

I managed to get out to the zoo with my son this weekend. Great day for it, weather was perfect. Was a little crowded as they had Radio Disney out there. Managed to get a picture of the lioness taking it easy

The slight white banding on the image is from the fence I had to shoot through.

A few "rooms" down, this little kitty was taking a nap

Not sure, couldn't get anywhere near the sign to see what it was. I'm surprised they were asleep. The lion was crashed out too. Hard to imagine, Radio Disney was making all kinds of noise about 20ft away.

I will probably be going back quite a bit this year. Picked up a family pass, after going about 6 times last year. Might have to try some new lenses out.

Both are nice photos! The second cat is an ocelot.

I was struck by the almost "haunted" look the lioness has in shot one. It's a little said..

Nice work! What lens were you using?

Both were shot with an old sigma APO 70-300 f4.5-5.6. I think the first I did on autofocus, the second was manual.
